Biochemist (PhD) specialized in drug development

" With a PhD in biochemistry, I am trained in a wide range of laboratory skills such as HPLC, in vitro assay design, in vivo G mellonella models, molecular dynamic simulations, and mammalian cell cultures. My academic studies focused on drug development, but I am capable and eager to learn new skills and become proficient in other fields within the life sciences. My PhD formed part of an international collaboration between South Africa and the United Kingdom, where I traveled to Universities, such as King's College London, to learn from and collaborate with multiple research groups. This provided me with interdisciplinary laboratory skills, as well as good planning, teamwork, and communication skills. Whilst completing my PhD I worked as a lab manager at my University where I picked up valuable skills such as setting up and running a cutting-edge lab. My current aspiration is to propel my career to the next level and break into industry at a European company where I can fully utilize my skillset and challenge myself. I am currently based in South Africa, but willing and able to immigrate to Europe. "
